Day 4: Feb 6th, 2006 FORE!

The guys and I decided to take it easy today. We had been going for 3 days non stop without a break and we were all tired. Since we got home late the night before Mark, King of the Wake Up Calls, allowed us an extra hour of sleep until 8am. Woo! It was 845am before we actually made it out of bed. Oops!

We got ready and headed to the elevator. While we were waiting (and it took forever!) for it to pick us up to women and a little girl came up behind us and waited. Ding! The elevator doors came and I walked in, Matt walked in and the two women and girl actually pushed their way in front of Mark. Once Mark got in the elevator one of the ladies looked at Matt and said “Well, one gentleman out two isn’t bad.” and gestured to Mark. You crazy old bat! You cut in front of people. You are the rude one! I’m sorry but we were waiting long before you got there, you are not old and frail you should not just expect to be let on an elevator just because you have different “plumbing”. As the doors opened I laughed at both the guys irritation. Mark’s irritation for getting pushed aside and cut in front of and Matt’s irritation for being called rude by some of the rudest guests we experienced. For the rest of the trip anytime Matt walked into a door ahead of me I made sure to say “Well, one gentleman out two isn’t bad.” just to bug him.

At the Everything Pop we all tried the Breakfast Burr- I mean Breakfast Wrap. We filled up our mugs with apple juice and off to Epcot we went! We of course had to ride the BBQ Sauce ride (AKA Spaceship Earth). I tried Mission Space again and still came off with a headache and dizzy feeling. I’m not sure if the dizzy is from all the spinning or if it’s from my hyperventilating. LOL! The guys kept checking to see if maybe, perchance Test Track was open. It wasn’t. They were sad. We went to the Mexico Pavilion and rode El Rio Del Tiempo and came back with the song stuck in my head. It might even be worse for It’s a Small World for Stuck-in-your-head-ness. I liked it! La la la la la la la! Then we headed into Norway for Maelstrom. “Back! Back! Over the falls!” Oh that is good stuff right there!

This sign might as well say “BETH XING”

I’m not too sure what they’re doing. But whatever it is, they are doing it by the pyramid in Mexico.

This was my best Viking pose next to the Viking ship. I’m not too sure how a Viking poses.

We had reservations at Le Cellier in Canada. I liked to call it The Cellular Phone. We headed over and looked at the beautiful gardens while we waited for our names. We were seated soon after. Wow! What a beautiful restaurant. Its very warm and cozy feeling in there. Plus the food?! Yum! We had our delicious pretzel breadsticks representing 3 things about Canada that I can’t remember now to save my life. Our waitress was very good. Matt was sad he didn’t get a whole gallon of soda to himself here, though. Matt and I each ordered the Cheddar Cheese soup made with beer and bacon. That was heaven in a bowl. I shared mine with Mark. For lunch I got the open face sirloin sandwich, Mark got the 10oz New York strip steak and Matt got the steak cheeseburger. Somehow during the meal I dropped my fork on the plate and flung my onion ring onto the floor. I swear! You can’t take me anywhere. Other than that lunch was absolutely divine.

That mans butt ruined my beautiful picture!

After lunch we walked to the International Gateway and hopped a boat to the Boardwalk. What a fun area! They have those fun looking pedal bikes that we didn’t rent but they sure looked fun. We also found a “fun mirror” and entertained ourselves for a while with that. Mark and Matt found an arcade and played a game or two. We walked over towards the Swan and Dolphin hotels. Wow! Those hotels are amazing. We agrees the Dolphin was our favorite and took some time to explore their beach.

Matt checks out the pedal cars and deems them unsafe. LOL!

Fun with Fun Mirrors! As you can imagine I was singing “I Like Big Butts” the whole time I was in front of the mirror and shaking my groove thang.

The entrance to the Dolphin just took my breath away!

Mark looks pretty comfortable amidst all the luxury.

After we relaxed we decided to go play mini golf at Fantasia Gardens. We all like to play at home at Castle Park but we really wanted to try a Disney mini golf course. Also please keep in mind that I have come in last place EVERY single time we have ever played. But I’ve been improving. Fantasia Gardens is so fun! It was a great way to relax and just hang out with each other with out running all over the place. I know I took pictures of the course but I must have used Matt’s cameras because they’re not on either my pictures or Mark’s. Still it was a great time. But this course wasn’t Matt’s friend. He got scared in a cave, had a horn blown in his ear by some cute little mythological creature statue and knocked his ball off the “green” multiple times. Once into the water (He screamed like a girl once he realized where his ball was headed and it sailed over my head.). It made a nice “Splooosh!” sound. Mark used a combo of his long arms and his putter to reach it and then made Matt stick his hand in the water to get it. I just stood to the side laughing. In the end… I came in 2nd! My first time ever. Mark got 1st and Matt got 3rd. Oh I was so excited! In your face golf balls!!

Fantasia Gardens… you’ve been pwnd by Beth!

We took just about the longest bus ride in the world to get back to our hotel. I think it took us close to an hour before we were back at the Pop. We knew we needed to be up extra early tomorrow for Animal Kingdom. We were determined to be there before the park opened so we could hopefully get on a preview for Expedition: Everest. We decided to relax in the room for a while. We headed down to the Everything Pop for dinner. I had Chicken Parmesan with the world’s most yummy breadstick ever! Mark had a chili dog and Matt had a cheese steak wrap (Lord but that boy loves the wraps!). We sat at the table for a long time chatting about the differences between WDW and Disneyland that we noticed so far. We all agreed that WDW has much nicer Cast Members on the whole. Sure DL has some good ones (Mark for starters) but that DL CM’s have really lost that “pixie dust” in a bad way. They rarely engage you in conversation or attempt to make a magical memory, the guests seem to be a hindrance to them or they’ll just ignore you all together and pay more attention to what “CM Bobby is doing after work.” We were all really impressed with the way we were treated by WDW CM’s no matter if they thought we were “regular” guests or that they knew Mark was a CM. So Kudos to you Walt Disney World Cast Members! Good job!
